15/8- 3/32 = b
32 is the lcm of 8 and 32
So express 15/8 as 15 X(1/8) = 15 X (4/32) = (4X15)/32
This is done with a purpose of having a common denominator for making further simplification easy.
(4 X 15)/32 - 3/32 = b
60/32 - 3/32 = b
(60 - 3)/32 = b
57/32 = b
That is b = (57/32)
Verification:
The given question is what added to (3/32) is (15/8)
And our answer is (57/32)
And (57/32) + (3/32) = (57 + 3)/32 = 60/32 = 15/8 which is correct
