Question 271863: Please help me with this word problem:
The revenue, y (in hundred thousands), generated by selling x (thousands) units of an item is given by the equation y = x(-1/3x+4). Sketch the revenue model from your calculator and determine the number of items that should be sold to produce the maximum revenue. What is the maximum revenue?
When I entered this formula into my calculator to get the maximum, x = 6 and y = 12 are the answers. How does this translate into hundred thousands and thousands? Are the answers 6000 for the number of items and $120,000 is the maximum revenue?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
That's right, 6000 items but 12 * 100,000 = $1,200,000
