You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A box without a top is to be made by cutting squares measuring 5 cm on a side from each corner of a square piece of tin and folding up the sides.
Find the dimensions of the box, if it is to have a volume of 7220 cm^3.
:
We know the height of the box is 5 cm and the bottom is square
then we can just find the area of the bottom by:
7220/5 = 1440
Find the sides (s) of the square bottom
s = sqrt%281440%29
s = 38 cm
;
The box dimensions: 38 by 38 by 5
:
Find the vol to check it
38 * 38 * 5 = 7220
