You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A woman is 20 years more than the age of her daughter: x + 20
Her daughter will be represented by x: x
In 11 years she will be 3 years less than twice her daughters age: 11(2x - 3)
How old is each now?
So is this how I set it up:
x + 20 = 11(2x - 3)
------------------
W = D + 20
W + 11 = 2(D+11) - 3 = 2D + 19
---------------
Sub for W
D+20 + 11 = 2D+19
D+31 = 2D+19
D = 12
W = 32
-------
In 11 yrs, D=23, W=43
2*23-3 = 43 so it's good
