are u kidding me the other tutor way above me didnt know this..lol
its simple:
x+y=34
y=x+15
______
x+(x+15)=34
2x+15=34
2x=19
x=19/2
x=9.5
______
y=15+(9.5)
y=24.5
______
check
24.5-9.5=15
24.5+9.5=34
correct

You misunderstood the problem and the other tutor's answer.
It is x*y=34 [not x+y=34]
and x-y=15
the other tutor was saying the factors were limited to 2 and 17
17-2=15
2*17=34
