1st letter is K or W
2nd letter is one of 25
3rd is one of 24
4th is one of 23
--> 25*24*23 = 13,800

If repetitions are allowed?
Each is 1 of 26
--> 26^3 = 17,576

With a few exceptions, the 1st letter K is west of the Mississippi, and the W is east of it.

A few stations have only 3 letters, too. WBZ WWL WGN KGO KFI and some others.
