Question 26553: Find two consecutive even integers such that 3 times the smaller is 8 more than 2 times the larger.
Please help me translate into an equation and solve.
I know that it would be x for the smaller
and x + 2 for the larger, but I'm stuck after that.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let the two consecutive integers be x and x+2
3(x)=8+2(x+2)
3x=8+2x+4
3x-2x=8+4
x=12

12+2=14

Hence, the 2 consectuive integers are 12 and 14.
