Question 26543: I have attempted to solve this problem and am lost since I am not sure if I am doing this right or not. Any help in pointing out my mistakes would be great. Show each step in adding the following rational expression
[(9m)/(3m-1) + [3/1-3m)]
This is what I have tried
9m+3 / (3m-1) + (1-3m)
9m+3 / (3m-1) + (1 +3m) sign change
9m+3/6m
I have no idea if this is right or not. Thank you for your help. Answer by Earlsdon(6294) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Try this:
Rewrite the second term. Perform the indicated subtraction. Factor out a 3 in the numerator. Cancel the common factor (3m-1).
The answer is 3
