You can put this solution on YOUR website! sequences like this are easy to do, once you have the step in your head that i am going to show you... the Jon sure-fire method :-)
Look at the F(x) values...notice their increment is by 2 each time. This is the 2times table... 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, just moved a bit.
So, the x2 table is 2n where n is 1,2,3,4,5, etc
First term... is 5. First term of the x2 table is 2. How do we get from 2 to 5? by adding 3.
So formula is 2n+3.. check with say 5th term: 2(5)+3 is 10+3 --> 13. This is the correct value!
Another
2 5 8 11 14.
Difference is 3..so x3 table ie 3n
First term is 2... x3 table has 3. How do we get from 3 to 2? subtracting 1. So formula is 3n-1. Check say 5th term... Done!
