You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let number of adults be "x"
The number of child tics is "24-x"
Value of adult tickets is 17x
Value of child tickets is 8(24-x)=192-8x
EQUATION:
Value + Value = 363 dollars
17x+192-8x=363
9x=171
x=19 (number of adult tickets sold)
24-x=5 (number of child tickets sold)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Ok first Since there is no supportment agianist for many adults with childern or visa versa, then there must be more than one variables to consider.
Adult tickets =x
Childern tickets =y
Now togeth we get x+y=24 (solve for y)
y=24-x (Subsitution)
Now adults tickets cost $17 EACH for the quanity of the adults there.
Childern tickets cost $8 EACH for the quanity of the no. of childern there.
Total cost for them added together is $363.
SO:
17x+8y=363
Use subsitution.
17x+8(24-x)=363
17x+192-8x=363
9x=171
x=19
y=24-19
y=5
Hence, there were 5 childern tickets sold, and 19 adults tickets sold.
