So we just plug into the equation the values given;
7%5E2+b%5E2=25%5E2
49+b%5E2=625
subtract 49 from each side;
b%5E2=625-49
b%5E2=576
Now to get rid of the square you are going to find the sqroot;
sqrt%28b%5E2%29=sqrt%28576%29
b=24
