Question 263679: 6/n-1/4=8/2n
Answer by JBarnum(2146) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! the only part you need to remember is how to multiply each side by the same number so N gets to the numerator.
6/n-1/4=8/2n simplify
6/n-1/4=4/n
((n/1)(6/n))-((n/1)(1/4))=(4/n)(n/1) use cross cancelation and multiply accros
6/1 - n/4 = 4/1 simplify
6- n/4 = 4 add n/4 to both sides to keep (n) positive
+ n/4 +n/4
6 = 4+n/4 subtract 4 from both sides
-4 -4
2=n/4 multiply by 4 to both sides
(4)2=(n/4)(4)
8=n
