Question 263424: Voyager 2 traveled approximately 4.4 billion miles in 2.0 years. What was the average speed in m/s?
I converted years to seconds...63072000 seconds for 2 years
and then I divided 4.4e-10 by 63072000. The answer I got was 7e-18 I rounded to one significant figure. it was wrong....can you help?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
billion is 1000 million
million is 10^6 and billion is 10^9
2*365*24*60*60=6.3072*10^7
4.4*10^9/6.3072*10^7=69.7615 miles per second
rt=d
r=d/t

Voyager 2 traveled approximately 4.4 billion miles in 2.0 years. What was the average speed in m/s?
I converted years to seconds...63072000 seconds for 2 years
= 6.3072E7 seconds
---------------------
4.4 billion = 4.4E+9
And that's miles, it asks for meters/sec
4.4E9 miles * 5280 ft/mile * 0.3048 m/ft = 7081.1136E9 meters
=~ 7.081E12 meters
-------------------
r = d/t = 1.1227E5 m/sec
