step 1 - using quadratic, we get

and then
x+=+%282+%2B-+sqrt%28-20%29%29%2F%284%29
simplifying the radical, we get
x+=+%282+%2B-+2isqrt%285%29%29%2F%284%29
and canceling, we get
x+=+%281+%2B-+isqrt%285%29%29%2F%282%29
