Question 26327: I did this problem and I don't know what I did wrong could someone please help me?
Simplify: (f^2 + 4f-1)+(2f^2-3f+2)
this is what I did: =(f^2+2f^2)+(4f-3f)+(-1+2)
= 2f^2+2 + f-5
= 2f^4+f-5
could you explain what I did wrong?
thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Simplify:
%28f%5E2%2B4f-1%29%2B%282f%5E2-3f%2B2%29 You started out just fine by combining like-terms.
%28f%5E2+%2B+2f%5E2%29+%2B+%284f+-+3f%29+%2B+%28-1+%2B+2%29 Then something went awry! You probably missed the 1 in front of f%5E2 so that 1%2Af%5E2+%2B+2%2Af%5E2+=+3%2Af%5E2 and I don't see where the -5 came from. It should be:
3f%5E2+%2B+f+%2B+1
