right now we are at 1/8 full
15 gallons got us up to 3/4 = 6/8.
This means 15 gallons is the same as 5/8 tank.
We can create a proportion to get our answer as
15%2F%285%2F8%29+=+G%2F1
step 1 - cross multiply to get
15+=+%285%2F8%29G
step 2 - multiply 15 by (8/5) to get
24+=+G
So, 24 - 15 = 9 gallons to fill the tank.
