Question 26268: Show by an example that the following statement is false in general for integers a, b, and c
a/c and b/c right arrow a+b/c.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! If the / is a vertical line the a/b means "a divides b"
You are asked to show that if "a divides c" and "b divides c"
then it is not always true that "(a+b) divides c"
An example is 2 divides 6, and 3 divides 6, but (2+3) does not divide 6.
