Let x= an integer
Let x+1 = 2nd integer
Let x+2 = 3rd integer
Let x+3 = 4th integer
The sum of these numbers need to be 86 so:

4x+6=86
subtract six from both sides of the equation to get:
4x=80
divide both sides by four and you will get:
