here is the original problem:
log%283%2C100%29=+-2
the challenge I have here is that there is no variable. If we rewrote as exponents, we would get
3%5E%28-2%29+=+100
which is not true.
If however, the 3 were a b, then we would have the following:
log%28b%2C100%29=+-2
and now using exponents, we get
b%5E%28-2%29+=+100
rewrite the 100 as a power, we get
b%5E%28-2%29+=+10%5E2
so,
b+=+1%2F10%29
