The problem is not correct. There is no variable to solve for in the equation. And the equation as you posted it is not correct. In exponential form you equation would be:
100+=+3%5E%28-2%29
which simplifies to
100+=+1%2F3%5E2
100+=+1%2F9
which is clearly not true.

Please post the problem completely and accurately.
