Let A and B be the numbers. We have
(i) A - B =136
(ii) A/B = 18
solving (ii) for A, we get
(iii) A = 18B
substitute this into (i) and we get
(iv) 18B - B = 136
or
17B = 136
B = 8
so A = 144
