You can put this solution on YOUR website!
i need help on this problem it says in each case determine whether the lines are parallel, perpendicular or neither the problem is y= x+7
y=-x+2
------------
Find the slope of each line.
They're in slope-intercept form, y = mx + b.
y = x+7
m = +1
--------
y = -x+2
m = -1
--------
The slopes are negative inverses, so they're perpendicular.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=mx+b
Both are in the slope form where m is the slope.
The first slope is 1
The second slope is -1
They must be the same to be parallel
They must produce -1 when they are multiplied to be perpendicular
Neither would be when they are the same line (one equation is a multiple of the other or rearranged)
so which one is it?
