You can put this solution on YOUR website!
how do i solve??
1/2x-1/3=1/4x+1/6
:
It's easier if you get rid of the denominators, multiply each term by 12, results:
6x - 4 = 3x + 2
:
Subtract 3x from both sides
6x - 3x - 4 = 2
:
Add 4 to each side
3x = 2 + 4
:
3x = 6
:
Divide both sides by 3
x = 2

:
Check solution in original equation
1/2(2) - 1/3 = 1/4(2) + 1/6
1 - 1/3 = 1/2 + 1/6
Common denominator
6/6 - 2/6 = 3/6 + 1/6
2/6 = 2/6, confirms our solution
