You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I need to figure out an original salary:
Joe got an 11% raise which will bring his yearly salary to $26,085,
What is Joe earning now?
;
The problems says he is earning 26085 now
:
To find the original salary
:
Let x = original salary
with a 11% raise:
1.11x = 26085
x = 26085%2F1.11
x = $23,500
:
:
Check this .11(23500) = 2585; 23500 + 2585 = 26085
