Vertical asymptotes occur when the denominator equals zero.
x-3=0
x=3
Look at the degree of x in the numerator and denominator.
f%28x%29=x%2F%28x-3%29
Divide numerator and denominator by x.
f%28x%29=1%2F%281-3%2Fx%29 Now as x goes to infinity the term 3%2Fx goes to zero and f%28x%29 looks like f%28x%29=1
So then the horizontal asymptote is
y=1
