You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a father is four times as old as his son. in twenty years he will be twice as old. how old are they now?
------
F = 4S
(F+20) = 2(S+20)
-------------------------
Substitute for "F" and solve for "S":
(4S+20) = 2S+40
2S = 20
S= 10 yrs old (the son's age)
-------------------------
F= 4S = 40 yrs old (the father's age)
