Question 258630: i have no type of idea how to find out to solve nothing i appreciate n thank you
a stake is to be driven into the ground away from the base of a 50foot pole,a wire from the stake on the ground to the top of the pole is to be installed at an angle of elevation of 52degrees.

This is like the triangle on the paper being that b is 5o foot pole,A is 52 degress and C is the wire
how far away from the base of the pole should the stake be driven in,to the NEAREST foot? what will be the length of the wire from the stake to the top of the pole, to the NEAREST foot?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Equation:
tan(52) = 50/a
---
a = 50/(tan(52))
---
a = 39.06.. ft.

:
Use the tangent of 52 degrees, side adjacent = x; (dist from the stake to the pole)
tan(52) = 50%2Fx
1.27994 = 50%2Fx
x = 50%2F1.27994
x = 39 ft from the stake to the pole
and
use the sine of 52 degrees, hypotenuse = h (length of the wire)
sin(52) = 50%2Fh
h = 50%2F.7880
h = 63 ft is the wire
