Question 25818: Question: Craig is 24 years younger than his father. In 10 years, his father will be three times older than him. How old is craig and his father now? Answer by Paul(988) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let Craig's age be x-24
Let his father's age be x
In 10 years his father's age = x+10
In 10 years his age = x-24+10 -->x-14
In 10 years his father's age 3x son's = 3(x-14)
Expression:
x+10=3(x-14)
x+10=3x-42
-2x=-52
x=26
26-24=2
Hence, Craig is 2 years old and his father is 26 years old.
