You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Will's Father is five times as old as Will now. Two years ago, he was 7 times as old as will was then. How old is each now
---------------------------
Equations:
F = 5W
F-2 = 7(W-2)
------------------
Substitute for "F" and solve for "W":
5w-2 = 7(w-2)
5w-2 = 7w-14
2W = 12
W = 6 (Will's age now)
-----------------
Since F=5W, F = 5*6 = 30 (Father's age now)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
"Will's Father is five times as old as Will now" ___ f = 5w

"Two years ago, he was 7 times as old as will was then" ___ f - 2 = 7 (w - 2)

substituting ___ 5w - 2 = 7w - 14 ___ 12 = 2w ___ 6 = w

substituting ___ f = 5(6) = 30
