first it is unclear whether it is (x/8 or x/(8+4)
x/8
-6=x/8+4
add 4 to both sides
-2=x/8
multlpy both sides by 8
-16=x
x/(8+4)
-6=x/(8+4)
add 8+4=12
-6=x/12
multiply both sides by 12
-72=x
