You can put this solution on YOUR website!
We need the slope formula which is:
m+=+%28y2-y1%29+%2F+%28x2-x1%29
we know coordinates and m. Substitute them to get
-2+=+%28y-5%29+%2F+%283-2%29
will give us
-2+=+y+-+5
y+=+3

The points (2,5) and (3,y) are on the same line. Find y when the slope of the line is -2
-------------------
slope = (y-5)/(3-2) = -2
Solve for "y":
y-5 = -2
y = 3
