You can put this solution on YOUR website!
what equation would I use to work this problem?
the number of plasma tv's produced varies directly as the number of hours a 10 person assembly line works. If 20 tv's are produced in 2 1/2 hours, what time is the constant variable?
Saying that the number if tv's produced varies directly with time means there is constant k such that
number of tv's produced = k * number of hours worked.
So:
if n is the number of tv's produced and t is the time we have:
n = k*t
We are told that when t = 2.5 then n = 20. So
20 = k*2.5
We have then that k = 20/2.5 = 8
