trick question.
The plane travelled 1235+%2B+750+=+1985 km in the air.
However, it is only 1235+-+750+=+485 km from where it started.
So depending on how one interprets "how far", the answer is different.
The plane flew 1985km and ended up 485km from it's starting point.
