The angle of elevation of a 15-ft ladder is 70°. Find out how far the base of the ladder is from the wall. Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The angle of elevation of a 15-ft ladder is 70°. Find out how far the base of the ladder is from the wall.
-------------------
The hypotenuse is the length of the ladder = 15 ft
The distance is the side adjacent to the 70 deg angle.
cos(70) = s/15
s = 15*cos(70)
s =~ 5.13 ft
