Question 254140: How do you find the slop of the linear equation given here... x + y = 5 Found 3 solutions by richwmiller, Alan3354, dabanfield:Answer by richwmiller(17219) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! slop is what you feed to pigs.
I believe you mean slope ( slant)
the slope form of the linear equation is y=mx+b where m is the slope.
so put your equation in that format.
y=-x+5
m is-1
that means that it slants down from left to right
You can put this solution on YOUR website! How do you find the slop of the linear equation given here... x + y = 5
---------
Solve for y.
y = -x + 5
That is the "slope intercept" form, y = mx + b
m is the slope, b is the y-intercept.
----------------
The slope, m, is -1.
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The standard slope-intercept form of a line is
y = m*x + b where m is the slope of the line.
So the line x + y = 5 in standard form is:
y = -x + 5
The slope then is -1.
