Question 254040: "Use the graph to solve the linear system. Check your solution algebraically."
The intersecting point is at (6,-2)
-x+y=8
x+9=4
What do I do next? How do I check the solution?
I am in Alegbra II Honors, and I am struggling with these problems. Please help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I think you may have graphed this wrong or possibly written it down wrong. The intersection will be at the point (-5,3). You can solve for x in the second equation and then substitute x=-5 into the first equation to solve for y.

If you spend a little of time working on this now, it will save you the headache of being lost the rest of the year. I am willing to spend some time working math with you.
