Question 253468: Find the slant height of a regular pyramid whose base is a hexagon with one side measuring 30 units and whose altitude is 10√3 units. Answer by Greenfinch(383) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! With a regular hexagon the side is the same length as the distance from centre to vertex, in this case 30
So by Pythagoras, the slant height is sqrt ( 30^2 + 10sqrt(3) ^2)
= sqrt (900 + 300) =sqrt 1200 = 20 sqrt 3 = 34.64
