You can put this solution on YOUR website! rt=d
The distances will be the same
Time is different by 1/12 of an hour
23/12 versus 24/12 or 2
60*23/12=x*2
Simplify remembering that 60/12=5
5*23=2x
115=2x
They were 115 knots away from the dock
Divide by 2
57.5=x
57.5 kph for the fishing boating
An aside:
After 5 minutes the fishing boat was
57.5*1/12=d
4.79 knots away from the dock after five minutes
That is not much of a speed boat if a fishing boat can go that fast.
