First a couple of formulas:
A+=+LW
P+=+2L+%2B+2W
the length of a rectangle is 3 times its width translates to
L+=+3W
we are given A = 147.
+147+=+3W%2AW
147+=+3W%5E2
49+=+W%5E2
W = 9 cm.
L = 27 cm.
P = 2(9) + 2(27) = 18 + 54 = 72 cm.
