the slope will not change if the intercepts are changed in such a manner that the resulting line is parallel to the old line .
for example a line has x intercept=2 and y intercept=3 now if we change the intercepts to x intercept=4 and y intercept=6 then still the slope of the line remains same.
just imagine a ladder in your house leaning against a wall now you can place another ladder which is shorter or taller than the first ladder with the same slope or inclination the first one has that is both the ladders look parallel.
now they are making different intercepts but their slope is same
