Question 251147: Simplify by removing factors of 1.
%286v-36%29%2F%286v%29
would it be a fraction 1/6v?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

%286v-36%29%2F%286v%29

Factor out 6 in the numerator

%286%28v-6%29%29%2F%286v%29

This is the same as

%286%2F6%29%28%28v-6%29%2Fv%29

The %286%2F6%29 is a factor of 1, so
we can just remove it and get

%28v-6%29%2Fv

----------------

Normally we remove factors of 1 just by
crossing them out or cancelling them from this
step:

%28cross%286%29%28v-6%29%29%2F%28cross%286%29v%29

and just leave

%28v-6%29%2Fv
