Question 250770: how do you simplify (xsquared-x+3)/(xcubed+6xsqaured+11x+6)

You can put this solution on YOUR website! how do you simplify (xsquared-x+3)/(xcubed+6xsqaured+11x+6)
----------------------------
(x^2-x+3)/(x^3+6x^2+11x+6)
---
Use synthetic division to factor the denominator:
-1)....1....6....11....6
........1....5.....6....|..0
The denominator factors as:
(x+1)(x^2+5x+6)
Or
(x+1)(x+2)(x+3)
-----
But there are no factors common to numerator and denominator,so
the problem does not simplify.
