You can put this solution on YOUR website!
6n+5-(2n+1)-(3n-2)=thirdside
6n+5=65
solve for n
plug n into each expression for each side
2n + 1=oneside
3n – 2=otherside
65-(2n+1)-(3n-2)=thirdside
All answers in inches

Two sides of a triangle may be represented by 2n + 1 and 3n – 2. If the
perimeter is 6n + 5, what represents the third side? If the measure of the
perimeter is 65 inches, how long is each side?
===============
Perimeter = 2n+1 + 3n-2 = 6n+5
3rd side = 6n+5 -(2n+1 + 3n-2)
3rd side = 6n+5 - (5n-1)
3rd side = n +6
-----------------------------
Equation:
2n+1 + 3n-2 + n+6 = 65
6n + 5 = 65
n = 10
----------------
2n+1 = 21
3n-2 = 28
n+6 = 16
