Question 250444: one roofer can put a new roof on a house three times faster than another. Working together, they can roof a house in 4 days. How long would it take the faster roofer working alone? Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! faster roofer can do the job in x days; the slower in 3x days
In 1 day the slow does 1/3x of the job and the faster 1/x
1/3x + 1/x = 1/4
4/3+4=x multiply each side by 4x.
x=5 1/3 days
