Let x = number
Let (1/3)x = the other number
Since their sum is 92, the equation becomes:

x%2B%281%2F3%29x=92

The above expression is the same as 1x%2B%281%2F3%29x=92 right?
So, in order to add the coefficients, we can also say:

%283%2F3%29x%2B%281%2F3%29x=92

%284%2F3%29x=92

x=92%283%2F4%29

x=69 ...then... %281%2F3%29x=%281%2F3%2969=69%2F3=23

69%2B23=92 <--- answers check!

(92-x) = the other part

Multiply equation by 3, results
3x = 92 - x
3x + x = 92
4x = 92
x = 92%2F4
x = 23 is one part
then
92 - 23 = 69
