Question 249996: Here is another one I don't understand it say to translate to an algebraic expression, the product of 29% and some number the translation is ? it also says make the percentage a decimal and use q to represent some number
What exactly are they asking? Thank You Found 2 solutions by checkley77, richwmiller:Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Let q=some number
We want 29% of q
29%=29/100=.29 which is the decimal for 29%
Product means two quantities multiplied together.
the two quantities are .29 and q
So we want .29q which is an algebraic expression of 29% of q
Algebraic expression means it is written with a variable in this case q
if we set it equal to something then the expression becomes an equation.
If I said that .29q =58 then we would have an equation.
