you have to break it down to four different problems and add the areas
draw a line from the top of the side of 8 units to the perpendicular of 29 units to form a rectangle of 8 and 16
above that will be a right triangle of two known legs of 16 and 29-8=21
what is the formula for the area of a right triangle?
do the same on the 12 unit side making a rectangle of 12 and 14
with a triangle of 14 and 29-12=17 units
so now get the area of the rectangles of 8*16; 12*14 and the areas of the two triangles
1/2 base times height we know the base and height for both of the triangles
