Question 249034: Jack usually mows his lawn in 4 hrs. Marilyn can mow the same lawn in 7 hrs. How much time would it take for them to mow the lawn together? Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Jack can do 1/4 the job in 1 hr.
Marilyn can do 1/7 the job in 1 hr.
1/4 + 1/7
= 7/28 + 4/28
= 11/28 of the job in 1 hr or 28/11 hrs for both of them to mow the lawn.
