You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let d = number of dimes he has
Let n = number of nickels he has
given:
d+%2B+n+=+15
d+=+%281%2F3%29%2A15
d+=+5
5+%2B+n+=+15
n+=+10
He has 5 dimes and 10 nickels
10d+%2B+5n = total
5%2A10++%2B+10%2A5+=+100
He has 100 cents, or $1

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/3(15)=dimes
There are 5 dimes.
15-5=10
10 nickels
5n+10d
(5*10)+(10*5)=total
50+50=100 cents=$1.00
