Question 247751: Solve the equation
Answer by unlockmath(1688) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hello,
The whole idea is to get x all alone. So how do you do it?
Add 1 to both sides.
4x-1+1=-4+1 This leaves us with:
4x=-3 Now Divide both sides by 4 will leave us with:
x=-3/4
There you go. Plug this answer back into the original and you'll see it works.
